Many of the patients referred to us have an uncomplicated pregnancy and are referred to us for an advanced ultrasound examination, given our expertise in diagnosing fetal abnormalities and our ability to verify that the pregnancy is proceeding normally. Our OB/GYN physicians and maternal-fetal specialists also care for high-risk pregnancies, where a pre-existing condition or a problem diagnosed in the pregnancy has put the mother or baby (sometimes both) at higher risk for complications. In addition to pre-conception counseling, some of the conditions we diagnose, monitor or manage include:
- Recurrent pregnancy loss
- Advanced maternal age
- Hypertension and preeclampsia
- Diabetes
- Cardiac disease
- Preterm labor and cervical insufficiency
- Premature preterm rupture of membranes
- Multiple gestations
- Autoimmune disorders including Lupus
- Blood clotting disorders (Thrombophilias)
- Isoimmunization
- Fetal abnormalities
